SUCCESS!!
I'd like to thank the men and women from the Wheels of Time who contributed to the success of our September event. There are too many names for me to remember and I would hate to miss anyone so I will keep this pretty general. First thank you to all those who served on the Cruise Committee. You put in a lot of long hours as we attempted a major change and it was a major success. I will admit to a few sleepless nights worrying if it would work .
Like I said, when you start to mention names you can get yourself in trouble so I will share just three names with you. These three made a lasting impression on me and benefitted the club immensely. First, Ellen Dutcher, who opened up her home to the committee and hosted all of our meetings. I'm sure there were many nights we kept her up. That is of course not counting the nights she filled us in on the Red Sox scores. All those hors d'oeuvres were great. Thank you! Second, Julie Taylor, who I am willing to bet parked at least half the cars on the Cruise. She started in the middle and when I went to find her she was halfway up the hill. Thank you! Thirdly, George Tower, whose foresight took the club in a new direction. His suggestion of this type of event eliminated a whole lot of stress and made this a true family event. George has been around for a long, long time and his wisdom has benefitted the club greatly. He is like E.F. Hutton, when he talks people listen. Thanks George!
There you have it. These are my top three. I chose them because each one made an important difference that could be overlooked because they just worked quietly and didn't call attention to themselves .
